As far as we can tell, Ram Meetook is the only person thus named! Hailing from a religious family in Mauritius he dedicated his life to meditation and spiritual practice.
Firmly settled in the UK now, his parents strongly preserved their Hindu beliefs as immigrants and kept their rooted traditions alive with the young Ram growing up embracing his faith through music. During the summer months, Ram’s work also sees him spend time at Chelsea Physic Garden – a medicinal plant garden in London. He says that the peaceful surroundings and atmosphere have also helped nurture his soul.
All of this has led to him fulfil his main passion, which is singing and his distinctive voice is to be clearly heard resonating throughout the album.
Producer Kuljit Bhamra worked with Ram Meetook to orchestrate the music on the album which includes a Mumbai Choir, Bamboo Flute, Dholak, Toombi, Guitars and Tabla.
